I feel that some modules like User Centered Design for Business and Innovation Made Possible stretches my creative thinking, and allowed me to unlock new perspectives while ideating.
In Business Studies, I am given the options of marketing, human resource, entrepreneurship, and business sustainability. To take a step closer to my goals, I will choose marketing as this specialization will teach me the skills needed in commerce and marketing as a whole, allowing me to understand the ins and outs of marketing and provide me with projects that would involve photography.
I am looking forward to volunteering more as a event photographer to increase my skills in this area, where the photographs are used for publicity and social media for the organization. Being involved in this would also allow me to connect to other photographers who built their careers around photography as well.
Joining a photography club can provide me an opportunity to learn from more experienced photographers and gain access to equipment and resources. I could also gain experience through organizing and participating in photoshoots, and by sharing and critiquing my work with other members of the club.
Taking online photography courses to improve my technical skills, and to learn about the latest trends and techniques in photography.
After Polytechnic and National Service, I plan on continuing my education by applying for a film school at Lasalle. To do so, I will build up my portfolio by taking online courses like Storytelling through Film: How to Create Engaging Videos for Youtube by Thomas Dajer, which is an online course on Skillshare. And other courses by creators like Jake Frew, Jesse Driftwood and Peter Mckinnon.
The reason why I want to apply for film school is because it not only gives me the creative skills that can be found in commercial photography, but also it would also allow me to expand to other areas in this industry like commercial filmmaking or even cinematic content creation.
